When I run Plex it says there is a server available. When I log in and add the sever it crashes. The only way the server will run again is if I delete the server from devices. Run Plex and it says the same thing about a server being available. No logs being generated and the directories on that are mentioned on the support site do not exist i.e. those in /Library.

I'm new on here, so I'm sorry if this issue has already been posted.
I used the Plex Media Server via the Roku app to watch TV shows on my home television for about a year. LOVED IT! About 6ish months ago, I updated the Plex Media Server. Ever since I did this, whenever I open the Plex Media Server by going to the Applications folder, on my MacBook Air, a Plex tab opens up in Google Chrome (like it used to) and the Plex icon appears next to my Bluetooth icon at the top of the screen. In the upper left-hand corner of the Chrome window, under the home button, it just says 'Looking for servers...' and an orange circle spins continuously.
When I go into the Plex app on Roku, it says 'We couldn't locate a server'. At the top of the screen, it says No Servers with an arrow. Underneath that, it says MacBook Pro. When I click on it, it says MacBook connection state: unreachable. Please sign into your server and check your connection.
When I go into Settings within the Plex web app, it doesn't list a server. It just says Web, Users, and Devices (of which my MacBook and my Roku are listed).
I just have a simple ATT home wifi network that I connect my Roku and my MacBook Air to. I have read over quite a few of the troubleshooting articles and FAQs to no avail. I am at a loss and am kicking myself for updating Plex when it worked just fine previously. Does anybody have any suggestions? I'm not exactly a tech wizard, so I'm hoping that it's simply a setting that needs to be changed. Thank you for taking the time to help!
Plex said there was an update so i did it. Then i could not access plex from another device i then proceeded server mapping and it showed 32400 i clicked apply all it did was just keep spinning and now i cant surf to any website ?
Replace the app and tried again, still no luck.
This issue just showed up this week. Dashboard does not display in Safari. Works fine in Chrome. Any ideas on how to fix this?
Really pulling my hair out with this. Can't for the life of me figure why importing playlists is SOOOOOOOO hard!!!
Managed to create the music library OK. Checked import iTunes Playlists when I did so. Plex didn't. Like that worked! So then I try Import Playlists. Keep getting the green banner 'Playlists were imported' but there's nothing there - squat!!
What gives? My iTunes media folder is in its standard installed place on a Mac Mini where the PMS also is installed. I have enable iTunes Channel ticked. Do I still have to specify the XML media path. Some articles suggest no. Just in case, I've typed the path in. Nothing. Squat happens. Really is like wading uphill through treacle.
Scoured the forums for various topics on it but the most recent remains unanswered. Is there any kind of checklist that details precisely the hoops you need to jump through to get this to work?
It was 6 months ago I was looking for information on this. But it didn't work good. What is the state of hevc compatibility on plex?
I use a mac mini for server, synology on lan for keeping the media and a apple tv 4 + a chromecast for watching.
The server was then stuttering, struggling to transcode and cpu was over 100%.
I am using PMS version 1.0.3.2461 on a Mac running OS 10.10.5.
With each of the last 2 or 3 updates I have a problem with PMS crashing. I have enabled Settings>Server>library>Allow Media Deletion. PMS crashes after I have then deleted a file in PMS using the Delete option under " ... ".

Remote access do not work PERIOD ! it is green for exactly 15 seconds and then goes to "Not available outside your network"
Sonos do NOT connect or browse and the BIGGEST ISSUE; !!!
ALL my tv shows are now displayed as single files
i.e i now have thousands of entries instead of one entry pr show devided into seasons, and it is impossible to merge or fix in any way or form !!! ???? HELP!!!!
music and movies is NOT affected by this!
Hello I recently just added a few shows to my server. For instance the West Wing... I have renamed them with "Name my tv series and filebot". SO they look correct in my media folder and everything. But on flex they are labeled as the original file with all this gibberish. I have renamed them a second time, removed them from the media folder and re-added them and nothing changes. Is there something I am doing wrong or messing up? I have never had this problem before.
Installed the latest two version of Plex Media Server OSX (Plex Pass). Nothing but problems. The server wont convert video for sync - it just hangs, and I have unreliable access via plex web - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Screen shots and log attached.

I have a 2.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 and plex is struggling to transcode my mkv contents. I used make mkv to rip my blurays and I have all of the files in plex as mkvs. For some reason plex is not able to transcode this items even at the lowest quality? I am running plex off of my ethernet and it is definitely not my internet that is creating the bottleneck. Was wondering if anyone was having the same problem or could help me out? Please let me know if you need anymore logs. All my transcode settings are set to default.

I updated my Plex Media Server with the July 2016 update and Plex will no longer start. I tried redownloading the file but Plex will only start at the bottom then disappear. I also tried to use the Time Machine to go back to a previous version but that did not work either.
I don't want to completely uninstall because I would loose all my settings and meta data.
How do I fix!!! If necessary I will reinstall as a last resort but will need specific instructions to completely remove.
I have set up Plex to give me access to a 300GB photo library. This worked when I first set it up, but now if I either add or delete items, the library does not update. When I try to run the Plex Web app locally I get 'The server "My Server"' is unavailable".
I am relatively new to this, can I just check that I understand how things are organised and how it's meant to work.
I have my main library of 300GB of photos stored on an external drive connected to the Mac running the Plex Server. There is a Plex media server data directory in ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/. This is a file of about 3GB which I understand to just be metadata.
Somewhere I have lost the linkage between the metadata and the main files. How do I sort this please ?
Ever since the last 2 updates, my TV shows metadata is not updating (even when i manually refresh the episode or the entire series). Anyone facing the same issue?
I've been using Plex for a few years now, happily paying my monthly fee but the error messages have become too much.
Out of nowhere:
I can no longer connect my PS4 to the server on my mac mini.
I can no longer sign in to the claim page even though it says I am signed in on the site.
All this for a paid service where I can't even reach out directly to a support team. I have to bother other users and take up their valuable time begging for help.
I'm not impressed, Plex. What can you do to help me get this service working again and not cancel my subscription?
So, Plex isn't working on my Roku TV. It says, "Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network." I have the red X next to "Internet" in my "Server Mapping" section of Remote Access. However, I downloaded the Roku Media Player on my Roku, it was able to find my Plex Media Server and access all the movies and TV shows I have there. So.... what's the deal? I've got access to my media, so it's not a biggie, but I definitely prefer Plex to the Roku Media Player. I've already tried everything in all the walkthroughs and faqs, restarted my router, etc. This seemed to happen all on it's own. Is it just something on Plex's end with a funky update?
