file format of the currently selected audio format is not supported
I get this message when I try to playback a movie. My Plex Media Server is on a NAS Synology (DS1511) and I try to play the movie on an Apple computer. If I try to play the movie on my Samsung Smart TV there seems to be a performance problems (the movie is not played but the systems "hangs"). Ideas ?

Most of my photo's don't show in Plex
I have my photo's stored on a WD nas. I created a library for my photo's. Some of them show. Also some of the folders show up but most of them show just as a standard plex pictogram and not as a photo. If you select of one them the photo also doesn't show. updating the library doesn't help
Movies, tv series etc all work fine!
Any ideas?

Watched/Unwatched not working with STNG tv series
MAC O/S Server, top version.
PLEX: Version 1.0.2.2413
When I first setup this series it seemed to work fine, but now the other seasons seem to mark as watched based on what I watched on the first season (currently watching). If I update season two back to "unwatched" if effects ALL the season. This shows when watched through Web, AmazonTV, iphone...

OS X Unable to load libmediainfo.0.dylib
I get a lot of errors like this in my scanner logs:
MediaInspectorMediaInfo: unable to cast 'Unable to load libmediainfo.0.dylib'
followed by:
MediaInfo and FFmpeg disagree on the number of video streams in the file (ffmpeg: 1, mediainfo: 0)
MediaInfo and FFmpeg disagree on the number of audio streams in the file (ffmpeg: 1, mediainfo: 0)
Which of course is expected if it could not load the dylib
I can see that I have libmediainfo.0.dylib within the frameworks directory of the app
So why can it not load it?
Is this a bug?

Century Link w/ Technicolor C2100T Modem
I'm having a really hard time getting my Technicolor C2100T modem from CenturyLink to be visible outside my home network. I've manually forwarded a port and Plex see's the two IP addresses and the ports correctly, but is not connecting to the internet. The server mapping line looks like this. Private 192.168.0.2 : 32400 (green left arrow) Public 97.XXX.XXX.XXX : 48711 (red X) Internet. Any ideas?

Can not play movies in PMS. "There was a problem playing this item" help!
Ok so the short is.
Everything worked fine on my Mac mini while I had the drives connected via usb to the back of the Mac.
Bought a new my cloud HDD.
Moved the movies there.
Deleted plex, all system files, and re installed plex.
Did a re scan.
Everything works like it should, but the videos will not play.

Plex is not marking shows as watched
I'm running plex from a mac server and mostly watching on a Roku stick. If I stop a show or movie in the middle it does not remember it's place and shows and movies I've watched are still showing as unwatched. Help please!!

PMS & PHT no long working correctly
Hi all,
I have had to replace my MacMini as it sadly passed away. I had it running PMS & PHT and was directly connected to my TV. I had to reinstall PMS & PHT from scratch and let PMS pull down all the Movie/TV Show info from the internet. It took just under 14 hours to fully pull down all the Movie/TV metadata. I am now having a few problems since downloading the latest versions of PMS (1.0.0.2261) and PHT (1.4.469-47a90f01). These are as follows:
- Plex web no longer shows what is playing from any of my devices.
- If I try to play an entire season of anything by pressing play on the season I get an error message saying “Unable to play media Please check that this file exists and the necessary drive is mounted”. The drive is mounted and I can play a single episode of the season just not the whole season. It does this for every tv show I have.
- It not longer marks episodes/movies as watched when I watch them I have to mark them as watched manually.
- I have to run a full library update on my TV Shows and Movies if I add any new files in.
I know these seem small problems but it was working perfectly until my old MacMini died.
Hopefully some of you lovely people in Plex land will be able to offer some advice please and thank you in advance.
My MacMini Spec is in case its needed: Intel Core i5 2.6GHz, 8Gb RAM (late 2014 Model).

Bug report for Plex OS X Server
Under Web > Player, plex loves to switch "Remote Quality" to 4 Mbps. As someone with a 18 Mbps upload, this is unacceptable. I feel like I change it back to 12 or original multiple times a week, usually coinciding with a server update or a server reboot. Please fix this as it is driving me crazy. Thanks.

Plex Server crash - unable to connect to media every 10/15 mins.
So, for the last 3 weeks my Plex server has been crashing. I try and play media and get the dreaded 'Red' warning that my media is not available or has been deleted, when my mac mini is happily connected to my Synology NAS.
To fix, I close PMS and restart (sometimes this works, others times not).
I am using PMS Version 1.0.2.2413.
If I can start watching something, I'm OK, but if the PMS has been left for a while, more often than not it will have crashed.
One thing I did notice is that my PMS seemed to refresh all my Meta tags, episode info etc. The thumbnails all deleted and then appeared to re-download again.
Any help appreciated as at the moment my system is unusable.

Somehow cannot connect media server to device
Greetings,
After a while I wanted watch some TV series and since I bought a Playstation 4 I want to give the device a try to get rid of my applet v and air video on my phone.
My current situation:
An iMac running yosemite 10,10,5
A playstation 4
My modem (of course) in bridge mode
An external router to provide WIFI coverage for the entire house
The moment I want to see media via the PMS on my device using WIFI it works fine, but this does not work with series , as it stops playing after a while (not sure if this is due to wifi).
Therefore, I want to connect everything using wires and hopefully create a better connection. My wires of my PC and PS4 are both connected to the modem and everything is working fine (browsing, gaming etc.)
But the moment I want to connect PLEX it says:
"Your PMS and device are on different subnets. This may cause communication issues depending on the network setup. Please check the network setup and try again.
Now, I've found my subnetmask of my iMac and tried everything to get them connected but it just won't work. Does anybody have any idea as I have the feeling it should work but it does not :(

Plex Server conflicts with OSX screensaver
I've been experiencing a strange behavior after upgrading to Version 1.0.0.2261 of Plex Server for OS X.
I run the Plex server off my iMac (running on Safari Version 9.1.1 (11601.6.17) and OS X El Captain, 10.11.5), which has its screensaver set to 1 minute.
Whenever I use the cast menu on the Plex Server to connect to either Roku or Apple TV, the screensaver never on my iMac never kicks in as if the computer was kept "awake" by something.
Reversely, if I play any media from the iOS app into my TV or use the native Plex apps on either platform, the screensaver on the Mac works just fine.
I've been using Plex with this exact setup for years so it took me a while to narrow it down to Plex (at first I assumed it was an OS X issue).
Anyone experiencing a similar behavior?

Network too slow but other media streaming apps working fine
Hi,
My set up is a mid - 2011 macbook air running the latest version of PMS streaming to an Apple TV (wired) and iPad / iPhone (wireless). Some shows work fine but I am finding more and more that the video stalls and I get the Network too slow message.
Activity monitor on the mac shows that it's working to produce the video stream but the devices show the stalled video. After restarting the apps I still can't play the files until I reset the PMS. I have been through the forums and support pages and tried different set ups with the PMS and network without finding a solution.
The network seems fine as I can watch the same movies through VLC without missing a beat.

BUG: Optimizing Movies on PMS for Mac
When I choose to optimize a movie, the optimization gets completed immediately. No new file appears, it just says that the optimization is completed. I usually pick custom settings, for a high bitrate (20Mbps) conversion for my Xbox One.
I've had this bug for that last 3 weeks or so. I'm currently running version 1.0.2.2413.

Trying to change Transcoder temporary directory.
Hello, I am trying to change my transcoder temporary directory as my mac (i7 2.7ghz, 16gb ram) is struggling to stream a 50gb mkv file to my PS4 (via cat6e), even though i have 100gb of free space on my internal SSD.
What pathway would I type in the field to point the server to an external 6TB drive named "My Book for Mac"? And would this be sufficient?

Use GPU in Late 2013 Mac Pro
Hi folks,
I run my plex server on a late 2013 mac pro.
While the quad core CPU is sufficient, there's two GPUs in the system which can be used for compute via OpenCL.
Has anyone here managed to enable OpenCL hardware acceleration on their plex transcoder (or ffmpeg) on OS X, to make use of the GPUs?

Remote access
I have seen issues on the forum regarding remote access not working since upgrade to version 1.0.0.2261.
What is causing this or a general bug ? Is there a fix ?
I see some people downgrading to an earlier version but not certain how this works ?
Appreciate any advice.

I then mount the NAS onto my iMac and run a plex server on it which serves up the media on the NAS. On my PS4, I can locate the library on the iMac and can play files from there.
However, I cannot get the PS4 to stream 4Mbps 720p, let alone 1080p, without stuttering. Why is this happening? How do I check to see if Plex is still having to transcode on the fly, and can a iMac 5k not do this sufficiently?
My PS4 is connected by ethernet+powerline to the router, and the NAS is connected by ethernet to the router too. My iMac runs on WIFI. My download speed for services like Netflix is sufficient for 1080p streaming, and seeing everything is local network I doubt it's lack of bandwith???

Media server unavailable
Hello,
I was not sure in which category to put this, so i chose the server as it looked more generic. I have installed the media server on my yosemite server. The web works wonderful. There are not problems and worked out of the box. The problem is with the players and the friends.
1) I have plex on my IOS which when i start it, shows connecting and doesn't connect. That happens when i am outside the house only. I have opened the appropriate ports on the firewall and the web iface works but the ios client not
2) Same issue with a windows 10 client as above
3) Some of my friends report that the server is unavailable. When they tell me so, i check immediately through the web (even when i am not home) and for me it is available. However, a little bit afterwards, it becomes available for them as well, until next time that it happens and the situation loops. I thought it was the sleeping mode on the mac mini itself, but if that's the case, why am i able to connect remotely to the web and they are not until i do?
