Example is TV Show - s01e01-e02.
Episode shows up correctly and plays fine in Plex clients but when you're done watching it only episode 1 is marked as watched.

[SOLVED]Video lag
My Mac Mini 2,53 GHz - nVidia 9400 has started lagging, when i am playing 1080p and 720p mkv.
It is especially in scenes where the camera is panning. The lag happens every 2-3 seconds.
Anybody has any ideas? I think the lag started when i installed Lion.

OSX Rollback Update
Since no amount of searching seems to be turning anything up, figured I'd post here.
So, it turns out the latest Plex Server update is no longer compatible with my version of OSX. It would have been nice if the updater had checked for that first before installing, but thankfully the updater keeps all installed versions on file. All you need to do to roll back is the following:
Go to ~/Library/Application Support/Plex Media Server/Updates (if your home library folder is hidden, go to Finder->Go->Go To Folder... and enter the full path).
There you'll see a list of folders with various version names. Within each version folder there will be a folder called "packages", containing a manifest file and a zip.
Copy the zip somewhere (ie, a temp folder) and decompress it. You'll be left with a folder called "Contents".
Find the Plex Media Server.app file in your Applications folder, right click it and select "show contents".
Delete the Contents folder within the app, and copy the newly unzipped Contents folder there instead.
Run the application.
You should be back up and running your previous version of choice.
Hope this helps and is not too redundant. Why there is no longer any option to install older versions of Plex Server is beyond me - the minimum system requirements just suddenly changed and there's no official way to go back.

cant play random play in home music videos
For a while now I have had my own Music TV (stored on NAS) setup as one of my options in PHT. But recently when ever I try to random play this section I keep getting a error message 'Error creating the Plat Queue. The server was unable to create the Play Queue'. It's driving me crazy as I am constantly having to manually choose another video to play for the kids when the last one finishes. Can some one fix it please? P.s. random play works on normal TV shows.

Unable to add Libraries to a cleaned PMS re-install
After the 1.x.x.x update I've had nothing but issues with my PMS. I've had a good running system for over 3 years with no problems and now I have a non-working PMS system.
Initially I got the 'Server is starting' on-going message. After reading postings on how to fix this on the forums its only gotten worse for me. I then was unable to access any Server Settings either.
I decided to uninstall and do a clean fresh install of PMS. I followed the uninstall process (https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/articles/201941078-Uninstall-Plex-Media-Server) and rebooted and did a fresh install of the latest PMS 1.x.x.x.
Upon initally setup of my PMS I am now UNABLE to add libraries to my setup. I keep getting the 'Your changes could not be saved' error message. I have also seen a 'core components' are missing type error that popped up and then went away.
So I am now dead in the water and unable to get my PMS working at all.

Can't untangle mismatched TV series and episodes
I recently added the series "Yes, Minister" and "Yes, Prime minister", essentially the same show, but plex has identified them all as "Yes, Prime Minister" and classified them into series one + two with an unidentified third series. ("Yes Minister" has 3 series, "Yes Prime Minister" has 2 series). When I play the files, it can play an episode from either show, so I don't get a complete series of either.
When I check the information for each episode, I see that for each, two files are found, one from "Yes Minister", and one from "Yes Prime Minister".
The file structure is broken down by folder into the 2 shows, then by season .
How do I disassociate the "Yes Minister" files from the " Yes, Prime Minister" episodes and create a seperate series? Is it possible? I can't seem to find the fix mismatch option, nor see how to create a series, or remove the file association so at least one show would be correct.

Player problem
I am running the latest version of the Plex server on my Mac Mini and the same for the player on my Android and Mac Mini.
Recently, when I try to play a TV show and want to control it via Android app, no player is showing.
If I play it via Mac Mini remote control, after an episode ends, it doesn't show it as watched, it's like it doesn't sync anymore.
This problem seems to happen only to the TV shows and not movies so I don't understand what I'm doing wrong.
Can you guys help? Thanks!

In an effort to move away from Google's awful UI I've been choosing to download YouTube video recently; rather than stream (I classify YouTube channels content as rudimentary TV series/shows). Using https://support.plex.tv/hc/en-us/sections/200059498-Naming-and-Organizing-TV-Shows everything plays nice in Plex web player:

|-foo - s01e01 - 2001-01-01 Episode 1
|-foo - s01e02 - 2001-01-02 Episode 2
|-foo - s01e03 - 2001-01-03 Episode 3

However, I'm starting to accumulate lots of YouTube shows and I'd like some way (i.e. convention) to group/tag them in the filesystem that also plays nice with Plex player; like an invisible category/tag
Neither of the obvious solutions work:
a) add parent folder

|-baz (2003)
b) add folder name prefix
y foo (2001)

y baz (2003)
Is this solvable - I'd really like to consume this content inside Plex?

after installing plex i have to enter password anytime i make any changes to the folder
i'm currently running el capitain and just installed plex. now anytime i want to make any changes to my folder that i added to my library it says "finder wants to make changes" and it asks for a password. i looked at the folder settings and i still have read/write privileges.

Subnet issue
HI can anyone help please ...been running plex via ps4/macbook with no trouble until the other day. Now saying both on different subnet?and cannot connect..how has this happened ..I have tried rebooting everything and reinstall but no change. Many thanks

local and remote access stopped working for Plex Server on OSX
hi there, I noticed early this morning that I could no longer access the Plex Server running on my iMac(Plex version 1.0.0.2261 , OSX version 10.11.5), from either my Macbook Pro or my atv4 plex app. The server is running and connected to the Plex cloud, and I can play videos on the iMac. For comparison's sake, I did a fresh install of Plex 1.0.0.2261 on my Macbook Pro on the same network and it is discoverable by all other computers on my network. The version of OSX on the Macbook is 10.11.6 beta(15g26a). The macbook is remote access is "fully accessible outside your network". In contrast, the iMac is "not available outside your network(your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable outside your network)". Both computers are connected to a Google Fiber router with UPnP enabled. I have fiddled with the Google Router port mapping to try to circumvent any UPnP issues there might be but regardless of whether I let the Plex Server do manual or automatic, it does not work.
Any suggestions ?

transcoder running
I'm seeing some weird behaviour with the transcoder running without any clients requesting anything. I basically woke up at 2-3AM and heard the mini's fans running like crazy and saw the transcoder was using all the CPU at that time. I'm 100% sure no client was using the service so I have no idea why it was running

Plex showing whitewashed movie poster
When using embedded artwork, Plex is showing whitewashed cover art. This is on Windows and OS X. The artwork shows up fine on Finder in a Mac but as soon as Plex pulls it, its whitewashed. Only thing I can think of is that the embedded image exceeds some kind of spec for Plex (and Windows Explorer) but I can't find any thumbnail/poster image specifications for Plex... This is on multiple different movies. Any suggestions/thoughts?

Streaming Issue with Apple TV 4 on latest Plex Server Update
Plex Server: Version 1.0.1.2396
iMac 5K running macOS 10 Public Beta 1
Streaming on Apple TV 4 keeps reporting inadequate connection bandwidth after the recent version update. Did not encounter this issue prior to this latest update. Default quality setting that I use is 12Mbps 1080p. Tried several lower qualities but still faced with similar issue.
Streaming to iOS is working fine - iPad Air 2 & iPhone 6s Plus - both running iOS 10 Public Beta

sound format logo missing
OK, so all of a sudden the DTS logo is not showing for any of my content across all playback devices (PHT, plex web, android), thus i am assuming it is a PMS issue.
Dolby Digital, and all other formats still showing OK, just the DTS logo that is missing.
was fine a couple of days ago... no changes made in either PMS or any playback devices.
running all current public release version of all plex products.

Plex on mac mini 2006
Hi all, after some disappointment with Chromecast (i have more divx/xvid than h264 so it's a little crappy lol), I wonder if I could not use my old mac mini 2006 with hard drive directly into usb and plug into the TV with dvi / hdmi adapter.
there will be no transcoding? there will be direct play?
there 2GB ram and cpu is a Core Duo 1.66Ghz (I may change for a 2.33)
with an apple remote that can be nice ^^

Problems with "Continue Watching" not updating position
Since updating to Plex Media Server 1.0.0.2261-a17e99e on my Mac, if I'm using the Plex Home Theater or Plex Media Player on that Mac, it no longer updates the "Continue Watching" position on a movie or TV show. For example, if I haven't started a movie before and watch a portion of it, when I go back to the home screen, it doesn't have the continue watching option available.
If I watch something on Plex through the browser, that will update (also seems to works fine on Roku and Amazon Fire devices).
I have tried reinstalling the client as well as completely wiping the server and associated cache subdirectories without success. I couldn't find the previous installation files and couldn't figure out how to roll back the server. Anyone experience this or have any suggestions for me?
