On a separate thread I had a discussion with a couple folks about my inability to get the server to make itself available outside my home network. I'm now to a point where Plex thinks it's available, but isn't, and all config items are up to spec per the documentation and hints from others.
So I'm giving up that that element. My question now is, do we know if Plex has any inclination to offer remote solutions that are less dependent on the vagaries of port forwarding and firewalls, or is the theory that the current solution is the way it's gonna be?
I'm trying to decide if I invest any more time in Plex, or go full cloud-based solution. The latter is a PITA from an upload/download and synchronization standpoint, but on the other hand I can get it to work....
