New Plex user: iPhoto and iMovie?

I have a 2011 iMac and Plex can find my JPEG and MPEG files. But, while there are icons for iPhoto and iMovie, I get an error when I click them. For instance, the iPhoto (via channels), when I click on Albums, says error, the server returned no data. It does show there are 4 albums (which is wrong, there are way more).
Similar error message for iMovie (server returned no data).

What's the trick? I am running MAC O/S 10.9.5 and iPhoto 9.5.1
