OK so I had this problem with my Mac Plex Server where, after an unexpected computer crash, my Plex media was listed as "Unavailable."
I checked to see if the volume was mounted etc. After searching through here to no avail, I headed over to Google and Apple.
This is what happened and I share It here for what it's worth.
Turns out when my Mac crashed, the system (Yosemite 10.10.5) left a "ghost mount point" in an invisible log file. Whenever I tried to change the offending "Drobo 1 1" (where my media lives) back to its default name "Drobo 1", the second '1' kept being added by the Mac Finder immediately. So Plex could not find the "mount point."
SOLUTION
- Go get TinkerTool from the web and use it to turn on all Mac invisible files.
- Turn on all invisible files to be visible.
- In the Mac's Finder menu, from the "Go" menu, choose "Go to Folder" (Command-Shift G), and this opens a new window with all your volumes. There, plain as day, was a greyed out (with red X) mount point called "Drobo 1" AHA!
-Take that greyed out folder and throw it in the Trash (you will have to enter your Admin password) - Empty Trash and Restart
BACK IN BUSINESS. Plex can now see all my media.
