Hi.
Using Plex Media Server ("PMS") (version 0.9.12.8.1362) running on a dedicated Mac Mini which is connected to my router via WiFi; my media reside on a WD NAS which is connected to the router via Ethernet cabling.
Also using Plex Home Theater ("PHT") (version 1.4.1.469), on the Mac Mini.
I have been using this setup for a few years, no problem. However, this week, while attemtping to add a new TV series which I had saved with EyeTV, I noticed something weird:
(By the way, while diddling around with the new TV series, I (inadvertently) started up Plex Media Server on another Mac which is also connected to the same network. This may or may not be the source of the problem which I'll presently detail. I have since shutdown that copy of the server and now only have one server running, on the Mac Mini.)
1- when looking at the NAS, through the Finder, one of my "categories" (Action, Drama, etc.) contains exactly SIX movies. The folders, names, etc. are all setup correctly.
2- when looking at that category in the "Media Manager" section of the PMS, I can see all six movies. However, when looking at the same category in PHT, I can only see TWO of the six movies! Of course, I have repeatedly "updated the library".
3- however, after I played a very short part of one of the "invisible movies", in the Media Manager of PMS, I was surprised to find that it was now visible (and playable) in PHT!!!
Q1: How come? Is there something I can do (short of playing snippets of every "invisible" movie in the Media Manager) in order to recover the missing movies? (Keep in mind that in some of my other categories, I may have 30 or 40 movies and have no easy way to detect if I have the same problem there also...)
Q2: I have noticed that in PHT, under each entry of the list of categories, on the left hand side of the screen, it says "Mac Mini" AND THERE IS A GREEN PADLOCK. Why? I suspect this is not normal and may have a bearing on my problem...
Thanks for your help and patience!
