Hi:
I don't know if these two issues are related, but thought I should include both.
I generally run Plex server occasionally, it doesn't run constantly. When I started the server several days ago, I noticed an update notification when viewing settings. I attempted to update, but at some point the browser lost connection to the server.
The steps I took:
Requested Update (based on Update Available)
As far as I could tell, it looked like a download request had started (and possibly completed) since the button changed to "Install Updates"
- The update never installed, and at some point, a browser refresh would not connect to server
- After some time the server became responsive to the browser again, but the previous "non-updated" version once again displayed, asking me to update.
I tried this a few times, always with the same outcome. I started up the server today and again tried to update, same results. I then downloaded the current version (apparently 1.1.42757-... the appended number looks like hex). Meanwhile, I noticed all the Plex server files (installed already) had bad dates. I had turned on logging to capture the log entries today, they show Dec 31, 1979 on all log files. The latest server release (noted above) has a file date of Jan 24, 1984.
My Mac has the date and time set correctly, and other no other files or folders I can find have these dates. I have the log files, which may be helpful, although I can't interpret them.
The server is now running, but am concerned the next update may fail. I don't know why the file dates are wrong, but assume that may cause a problem as well.
I didn't see this problem referenced here, but if this is a known issue/solution please point me to the appropriate information.
