I'm not sure if Plex Server is even the right tool, so if it is not, stop me right here!
Planned use is a large media server for low-res MP4 videos ranging from 2 minutes to 2 hours. Videos will be 960x540, 5Mbps MP4 with AAC audio (unless you have a different recommended setting). The library is over 5,000 files.
I'd like to share these out like a VOD server for approximately 20 concurrent users who would access their Plex account and media via web browser on Mac OSX. These 20 users would be local ethernet users, playing different videos, all at the same time. Gigabit network with a 10Gb backbone.
Below is my planned Plex Server setup. Please let me know if Plex Server, as a software solution, is even capable of running in this large of a setup.
Supermicro blade server with 2 x 8-Core Xeon Processors (16-core, 32-threads), 24GB RAM. 2 x SSDs in RAID1 for Linux CentOS operating system (v7 64-bit). 8 x 7200RPM HDDs in RAID5 for media library storage.
Thanks in advance!
