I'm looking for a new computer to buy and since I have limited space I thought the iMac is a perfect solution for me since it has all the things in a simple elegant package. The question is my Windows laptop at the moment is busy everyday gettings shows and movies from couch and Sonarr, putting them in Plex, which adds subs from subzero.
My question was if the 27'' iMac is good enough to run and transcode a Plex server for me. It needs to stream content to a maximum of three devices at the same time (Xbox One, Xbox One, PlayStation 4). The specs are as followed:
3,2-GHz quad-core Intel Core i5-processor
Turbo Boost tot 3,6 GHz
8 GB (2x 4 GB) geheugen, uitbreidbaar tot 32 GB
Harde schijf van 1 TB1
AMD Radeon R9 M380 met 2 GB videogeheugen
Retina 5K-display (P3) met een resolutie van 5120 x 2880
Since it is much money for me I wanted to know if some people maybe know if it is powerfull enough to handle all of this. Can't go without my Plex really
