I've been running Plex on my QNap TS-412 for a while, but the lack of transcoding and a general geekiness have made me get a Mac mini that I now have set up as a server running Plex server among other things.
However, as the Mac Mini doesn't have that much storage space I'd like to keep the media files on the NAS. What would you recommend for setting up the network connection between them? AFP, SMB, NFS, iSCSI or something else? I'm looking for both performance and stability. Anyone that's easier to make sure it's up and running after a system reboot so that won't cause the media to become unaccessible until I manually browse to the network folder so it gets mounted.
