I've been using PMS on a 2014 Mac Mini, i5, for the most part of 1 year. In the beginning, the performance for 1080p content has been superb and I was an instant fan of Plex. But lately, I've been getting hiccups when playing media.
I'm asking what are some things I need to do to keep my media playing stable? The Mac Mini is in my room so I'm using a Chromecast 2 to stream to a TV, I have a 5.0 GHz router, PMS 0.9.15.1, and OS X 10.11.2
Some other bits of information. All my rips are stored on 3 WD hard drives. I've only recently started to encode so the files end up averaging 8 to 9 gigabytes of data
Could it be the disk speed of the HDD? I used to use the transcode setting "Hurt My CPU" and now I'm using "Automatic". Automatic is slightly better but the buffering still happens. Often
Was it a poor decision to update? I'll report back with a "Speed is <=" after I test things out further
