I have an old mac mini with OS 10.6.8 and until a few days ago (dec. 20 2015) it worked OK. Today I got a notice on my iPhone that I needed to update Plex. I did so but now Plex cannot start the server anymore.
I read elsewhere that it needs a 64bit OS to work. My Macmini is 32 bit 2gz intel core duo and it's about 7 years old. But I was watching movies on it until last week.
Incidentally, I had just joined the plex premium plan but now that my mac mini no longer works I am not sure it makes sense for me to keep it. My main plex server is my PC, but I often change from my work profile to my gaming profile and when I do that I basically have to run plex anew on the gaming profile which is a pain. Since it worked until last week, I figured I'd move all my movie and music over to the mac and use it as my main Plex server, but now that doesn't seem a possibility.
Is there a way to run the server on the PC so that profile changes don;t affect it? Maybe sharing settings between the two? This is really disappointing and apparently I cannot fix it with an OS upgrade. I'd have to buy a new machine.
Let me know if there is a solution, otherwise is goodbye Plex for me.
