So I have a static mapping on my router from my external, public TCP port to Plex's internal, standard (32400) port.
However, for some reason Plex keeps thinking the external port is different, and I'm not sure what to do about that.
Every time the server restarts, it seems to decide that it has a different "exernal" port. That port isn't actually set up on the router, you can't reach Plex on it, and Plex server tells me that "Remote access isn't working". The old static port mapping I manually configured still works, but the new port seems to get registered with Plex.tv, so most remote services don't work.
I'm assuming Plex is trying to register with UPNP and failing or partially working.
I have an old crappy AT&T-provided 2WIRE router that doesn't seem to have options to configure UPNP (or enable/disable it). If it even supports UPNP, it and Plex certainly aren't getting along.
I'm fine with Plex using a constant port and setting up a static mapping. Is there something I can do on the Plex side to work better with this?
