Plex app won't open or run on iMac running OS Sierra

I recently got a new iMac running OS Sierra and though I have downloaded the most current version of Plex from the site, the app won't launch. in fact, when checking that my user has the proper permissions, this is what came up in Terminal. I don't understand why it says no such file or directory even though the PMS is in my application folder

Lewandowski-iMac:~ Lewandowski$ cd /Users/Lewandowski/Library/Logs
Lewandowski-iMac:Logs Lewandowski$ chmod a+rwx "Plex Media Server"
chmod: Plex Media Server: No such file or directory
Lewandowski-iMac:Logs Lewandowski$ cd "Plex Media Server"
-bash: cd: Plex Media Server: No such file or directory

I have also looked for log files as the various help faqs recommend and there are no log files for Plex present.

My kids would greatly appreciate any help you can provide me so that they can access their tv shows and movies again :)

Thanks!
