Why does my plex application close on my roku when I try and play an iTunes movie?

I recently purchased a roku 3, and downloaded the Plex application. I have also downloaded the plea media server on my mac and was able to connect the two. All my media files show up (music and movies); however, when I attempted to play one of the iTunes movies using the plex application on the roku, the plea application closes out.
