Mountain Of Issues After "Time Machine" Back Up

So, the idiotic Mac operating system (damn, Apple has turned to trash since Snow Leopard) kept doing updates even though I had all auto updates turned off. Turned out a corrupt update trashed my hard drive (according to the "Genius" people at Apple). Regardless, I had a Time Machine back up that, when forced to replace my mid-2012 Mac Mini i7 machine with 16GB of RAM, with their "new" 2014 refresh that soldered everything in and with a unit slower than my previous unit, has given me nothing but problems.

Plex has become incredibly unstable. Unresponsive most of the time, it will load, but I get "there was an unexpected error loading this library" among another large issue regarding the inability to optimize the library. A rad Plex Employee (MovieFan) thinks that the server is processing the thumbnails. This is probably true.

My main question here is why I never faced these issues in the past 3 years? Is it truly because Apple's new machine sucks as bad as I think it does? I would have to believe the dumb MacMini can't be that much slower than a 6 year old machine. You know? Obviously, I am frustrated and irritated with Apple, but beyond that, it seems unreasonable that some of these tasks would bring this computer to it's knees.

I have attached some logs that maybe someone could help me with? I do not know how to read them, much less decipher what could be the problem. Maybe the Time Machine back up screwed things up?

A second topic is, I have received a replacement SSD HD that I am going to try and install into the old MacMini. At that point, do I do a Time Machine restore? Or should I copy the Plex files and migrate to a fresh system? Would that be best anyways? Or does that have it's own host of issues?

Summary Of Issues:

  • Unresponsive server
  • Constant Library loading issues
  • Optimizing issues
  • General sluggishness across the board
  • Constant Dashboard loading errors

Future Course Of Action Questions:

  • Do I do a Time Machine Back Up in the future?
  • Is it better to simply migrate the server manually with database folder moves, etc.?
  • Is there a better OS for running Plex for purposes of performance (not considering personal preferences or bias like my anti-Apple negativity)?

I thank ANYONE in advance for their help. I am considering moving to Linux or Windows as well. Apple is half the company it used to be. I wish I could remember verbatim an old Jobs quote that summed up why I was a loyal fan from the late 90's, but it was something like "don't build a product to make money, build the best product and you will make money." That mentality is long gone. Sorry for ranting. Had that idiot computer simply respected the "no auto updates" setting, I would not be in this situation. The Apple "Genius" stated that "critical" updates still occur to keep my data safe. Of course, in this case, it destroyed my data and wiped my hard drive. Cool!
