I have a imac desktop 2.5ghz Intel core i5 with 4gb 1333 mhz ddr3 memory quad core running os x sierra. I do aplpgize about this not being in the osx portion of media server but it was greyed out. Plex was running great utill literally 24 hours ago. Remote access and everything was perfect. Now I can play locally without a problem but when playing remote it says my connection to the server isn't strong enough and to check my network. Problem is the network is awesome as well. 250 to 300 mbs down and 20+ up. Server is wired to router 3 feet away. Connection to my phone is great as well. 30mbps down and 18 up. The only other device playing right now is another android smart phone. Both would be transcoding but that shouldn't be a problem considering my comp. I was transcoding to 2 rokus locally, lg smart tv remote, android remote and had a computer on local direct play and only had a problem when trying to add another remote android. So that problem lead to the installation of plexpy and me trying a method to fix yesterday's problem that has some how created me a constant problem. My idea was to use the htpc laptop (windows 7) in another room connected to the Internet via lan to act as another server so it could transcode for 1 or 2 devices to take the load off the main server. So installed plex media server on this windows 7 2.7ghz dual core or something to the similar. Shared the drives through the local network from mac to windows and set plex to look for the media there. So I would essentially have 2 servers off the same set of one files. Allowing most in the mac for transcoding and a couple on the windows. My library on winows took several hours and still wasn't done. What was done would play via direct but wouldn't play through transcoding to any device. Kept on getting message that the server wasn't powerful enough to transcode the stream. So took the whole thing apart in favor of my original set up. Problem is now plex doesn't have a fast enough connection to the server for remote play. Excellent internet on both ends. Tested via speedtest.net. have uninstalled plexpy, and stopped file share on the drives, even uninstalled all my channels through plex web tools. Deleted the extra server from my profile. Restarted mac and router. Nothing has seemed to fix this issue. Please help me.
