Hi all,
I have about 845 items in my Plex library and per the settings in the Plex Media Server app on OS X 10.12 Sierra, it it set to run maintenance every day which appears to be the longer setting. Should I shorten it? This is running on my 2016 MBP and the "Plex Transcoder" runs for several hours every night, utilizing several hundred percent of the CPU when doing so.
Does this maintenance ever end or will it forever be ongoing day after day? Without getting in to every reason, I'd prefer this to by run on my laptop rather than another machine. I don't recall this being an issue on my old iMac (CPU-wise). Does it everything get to a point where such CPU intensive tasks are not as frequent/long?
Note: I also have "hurt my CPU" selected in Settings because it can handle it and because I prefer the quality. I've let it run for several nights and it gets to a point where it's not doing anything so I think it's all done but it always comes back.
Thanks!
