Hello dear Plexers,
I'm new here (duh)
Also I'm quite new to Mac.
So I setup my plex behind an ssl tunnel
At my hotel so far so good, works like a charm. (I'm genuinely impressed!)
I can play my files from any client device without problems, BUT I need a clean solution to keep it running while logged out with the system running.
Since I'm staying at the hotel for a few months this is actually important to me.
Mac doesn't seem to have services like Windows or the ability to tag processes as beyond individual accounts.
I've seen a few posts claiming you could use any combination of the following:
nohup
disown
caffeine
screen
Caffeine and Screen are no options for me.
Leaves disown and nohup does anyone have any idea or experiences with those?
And how would I reliably autostart those on System reboot? Are there cronjobs or similar things in Mac?
And no I'm not willing to use screensavers or hot corners or any of those gimmicks.
I'd like a clean solution for a (usually) very simple problem.
Hope I didn't come across as too rude.
Thanks in Advance
Qus.
