My current hardware setup.
PMS sits on a 2009 Mac mini, 1.4ghz Intel Core 2 duo processor, 6gb RAM
Running modest NAS machine, Freenas, old desktop PC, 1GB Ram
Wired ethernet via ASUS router
Reliable network Internet via Fiber: 30mb/s Upload and Download via Speedtest.net
I get buffering with Plex Media Player with most 1080p and even some 720p movies of various formats.
On activity monitor, CPU is maxed out with Plex transcoder!!
**It's my understanding that using PMP will not require transcoding! **
Log files show Verbose speed testing < 1 which also implicates not enough CPU power?
This setup has been reliable for years and over the last several months, even 720p TV shows become unwatchable due to buffering on ROKUs
Before I send the Mini to the trash heap, any thoughts on what might be going on?
