System: OS X 10.11.6
Plex Media Server: 1.1.4.x
Playback: Roku 3 HD
I’m a PlexPass member. My wife and some friends began reporting that SOME movies were exhibiting jerky, too-fast playback. I thought at first they were bad encodes. When I checked them, however, I could play them back locally on my host Mac via VLC.
Having read a post about how to roll back Plex Media Server, I tried a 1.1 build that also problematically behaved the same.
Rolling back even further to version 1.0.1.2396, however, seems to have fixed the issue.
So ... there DOES seem to be a playback problem that’s been introduced with recent upgrades.
I’m converting my library to HEVC 10-bit encodes using HandBrake but can’t be sure all the troublesome titles are H.265 encodes. While that DOES seem to be a common thread(at least at this juncture) ... these “jerky” titles are NOT jerky with the Plex Media Server 1.0.1.2396 build but ARE with later builds.
Could any Plex devs please comment on this issue, please?
