New music library scan taking more than a week

Hi all,

I tried upgrading my music library to a premium music library, back when that was first made available. After a couple of weeks of scanning, I realised something wasn't right, so I deleted the library and started again. Same thing happened - after more than 10 days of scanning with no results shown, I deleted the library again. I can't see where I might find some logs to help troubleshoot this, or if there's some kind of "debug mode" for an initial library creation. It's a fairly big library, but I keep it well organised.

Server: MacOS 10.11.5, Plex 1.2.2.2857.
Music library size: 108,479 items, local to the PMS (i.e. not on a NAS).
Internet connection Fairly crappy ADSL2.

Does anyone have any pointers of what I could look for in logs, or even if there's a debug mode for adding a new library?
