Default Settings for Macbook?

G'day y'all,

I have a Macbook with the following specs:
OS X El Capitan 10.11.5
MacBook Pro (15-inch, Mid 2012)
Processor: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 512 MB

I've messed around with the Player settings a bit, and have been having some playback problems - mainly with the unsupported channels, such as not buffering, or not buffering fast enough. While I realise this is with the unsupported channels, there must be some default which works well with MacBooks?

I'd appreciate any help.
