How to access multiple PLEX Servers simultaneously?
the story behind this question is simple: i have a Mac Mini, connected to my TV via HDMI and i use eyeTV to record Movies to my Harddisk and to stream it to my ipad at home. For ios devices, eyeTV generates an additional MP4 format of the movies which is good enough for me in quality. Sadly eyeTV can not relinquish on the larger MPEG format, so my library has grown to about 12TB and around 3000 videos.
Now i am looking for a more economic way, to maintain my video library, particular by using much smaller file formats like MP4. This weekend i found the Plex Media Server and the Plex home theater client, tested it and it seems to be an excellent solution.
What i am still missing is a way, to run a server on the Mac Mini and also to serve some Files from my iMac - both should be accessible easily from my iPad as well as on the TV, connected to the Plex Home Theater. How can i do that?
If i would simply use iTunes for all my media, i could use the "family share" to have access to both server's files from one point (ios client or itunes on each of both computers). Same function with eyeTV. How do i get this function with PLEX?
