Need advise on best server option

Hi there,

My plex server is currently running from a Seagate external drive which is connected to my IMac. The IMac is connected with WIFI and im getting about 75Mbps down and 15Mbps up. I'm using my PS4 Plex app to play all my Bluray quality movies. The PS4 is connected with an ethernet cable. Sometimes playing movies at 12 Mbps is no problem at all, but at times I can't even play them at 8 Mbps. Now my guess would be that this is because the server is WIFI connected and WIFI connections can be unstable. But I would like confirmation on that. And if so, what should a do? My options so far:

A. Get a powerline adapter to connect the IMac to the internet, getting a more stable connection (I hope). But it needs to be a Gig adapter and those can be expensive.

B. Connect a Nas directly to the modem, probably giving me the more stable connection. But a Nas is even more expensive and I don't think much people are using a Nas for Plex.

Hope to get some help!
