First of all let me thank the Plex team for the wonderful service. I migrated from Kodi to Plex a while ago and never looked back.
However I've run into a problem. Transcoding uses 100% of my 3570k CPU, which is well over the recommended specs. I'm trying to stream 720p 3Mbps to two clients, one in LAN and another over the internet. It doesn't really matter if the client is chromecast, web app or android phone.
My upload bandwidth is fine, alternating between 30-50mb/s.
Any tricks or tips? I've been thinking about pre-transcoding them with Handbrake or the optimizing option in Plex, but I use subtitles on almost everything and as I understand those require transcoding anyway. I don't want to "burn" the subtitles to the files.
