Symbolic Links not showing up in Plex Media Server-Mac

I'm working on organizing my media files so that they're organized well in Plex.
I'm trying to use Symbolic Links to place some files in multiple folders/Sections in the PLEX Media Manager without having to move them from their original folder or duplicate them. (Why? For example, I have files organized in iTunes, stored in the iTunes folder, and I want to be able to access them thru Plex but under a different organizational structure).

When I create the symbolic link file, however, and move it to the appropriate folder that I'm accessing thru Plex Media Manager, the "symbolic link" files don't show up in the Media Manager Section. If I place original files in the folder, they show up fine in the Media Manager Section.
The same applies for alias files (i.e., alias files don't show up in the Media Manager).

The symbolic link name looks like this: "11 Sink or Swim.m4v symlink"
The original file name looks like this: "11 Sink or Swim.m4v"

This happens whether the file is from iTunes or just located in a regular file on my Mac.

I'm running PLEX Media server Version 0.9.3.4-397e914 on iMac 2.66GHz, OS X 10.6.8

Does version 0.9.3.4 support Symbolic Links? If so, what am I doing wrong?
