I'm having some strange problems.
I had been running a plex server on an old Dell netbook, with an old atom processor. I used this mainly for music and music videos. I have 260+ GB music in FLAC format that was running off of a USB drive. Generally this worked flawlessly. Mostly listened to music on the same network in the house using the roku plex app and using a LTE connection outside of the house on my iPhone 6s. Barely had any problems. This was using a basic movie library.
I have just upgraded to a Mid 2010 unibody Mac Mini, 2.4 ghs core 2 duo, 8gb ram, 250gb sad, reformatted the external usb drive for mac added the music back on. Downloaded plex server for mac, became a plex pass member, the first thing I did was add my music library, this time a premium library. For some reason it took a LONG time, like an entire day.
But, I'm having major problems using not only the Roku 4 on the same network in my home and my iPhone 6s on the go. On both devices I'm getting lots of what I can only think are "loading" pauses. The music will pause for a couple of seconds and then start up again. The same thing happens on both devices. The other thing that happens is it will sometimes play to half of the song and then skip to the next track.
This is driving me crazy that I took the time to buy an old mac mini, upgrade the ram and hard drive to have a more powerful machine and i'm having more problems than my old dinky netbook.
Any advice?
