So here is what I want to do. When my PLEX server (MAC mini) is connected to the internet I can stream movies from my IPAD just fine. However, if I unplug the internet, connect the two devices to the same wireless network in my house thereby having just a wireless LAN, it is SLOW to list the movies and won't play them. Normal file browsing between computers is blazing fast and no other apps have this issue. Is PLEX designed to work when internet is not available? Reason for this is I am using my cell as a wifi hotspot and do not want to consume all my data with PLEX when I am sitting 50ft from the server but want to watch a movie. Have the latest App on IPAD and latest version of the server. Have no firewall on. Remember works great if I activate my internet connection.
