A to Z folders for TV

I have had movies in a-z folders for years and it's worked great.
My TV folder is now large enough that I finally got around to re-organising it into A-Z sub folders, but now Plex has rescanned everything into shows named A-Z instead of the shows inside. How come this works with Movies but not TV? Do I now have to add every single sub-folder to the library folders list?
