I'll start by saying I'm sorry because I know the answer is out there somewhere because I've already found it three and a half years ago, but unfortunately I can't seem to find the thread anymore... any kind soul that can point me in the right direction will have my everlasting gratitude. :-)
The problem I'm encountering is that Plex server doesn't seem to be aware of the presence of (correctly named) subtitles, and doesn't link them with the file/movie/show. As in: movie.mp4 is there along with movie.en.mp4, the system is set up to automatically propose english subs but does not. I have to manually browse for subtitles and enable them, and that is a no-no when watching shows on my secondary TV set, a Samsung with native Plex client that can't browse for subs.
The solution I was provided back then was to delete a file and make Plex recreate it with a deep scan. Unfortunately I don't remember the file name and I'm not sure that I can perform a deep scan with the current server version... can anyone help? Thanks in advance!
