Import from iTunes does not work - process hangs - options?

I'm running current PMS 0.9.15.2 on a Mac Mini with OS X 10.11.3. The iTunes Library is installed in the default directory of the current user. When I create a premium music library and check the "Import from iTunes" option and click on the "Add Library" button the process hangs. It never completes. When I cancel the process and repeat it without the "Import from iTunes" option, everything works as expected.

I really like to import my playlists and other metadata from iTunes. Is there another way to achieve that?
